Travel with Bangkok with 4 year old ( Part 1 ) , Kidzania Bangkok & Dinosaur Planet Bangkok

10:02 AM 0 Comments
We can only hope for the least tantrums ,bringing a 4-year-old boy to another country.During the flight , he couldn't stop touching all the stuff on the plane. Bringing my peaceful meal to a minimum enjoyment. Despite all that I am glad he is entertained throughout.
Look how energetic he is
Checking into Baiyoke Sky Hotel was a great space for the 4 year old to maximize his energy . He was bouncing up and down the bed running in out the rooms that were divided by the partition .
Look at the huge space
The second day was to find entertainment for the boy. Eating breakfast at Baiyoke Sky on the 81st floor , sets a variety of cuisine excited for the boy. Exploring the heights of the new horizons or rather verticals , perked his interest
Nice view
Then we jet off to find entertainment for Litttle Royce. For Baiyoke Sky hotel, there are shuttle services to the tourist spots .
We went to Siam Paragon

Kidzania
:991 Rama I Rd, Khwaeng Pathum Wan, Khet Pathum Wan, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10330, Thailand
I was excited about Kidzania, as I thought it will be pretty exciting for Royce to be independent and explore the adults' world. I do understand , different countries had slightly different rules.
Tickets are purchased accordingly to the child's age. We paid about $70

Papa and Mama Koh had different opinions on how Royce 's job should be . I wanted Royce to be a policeman . While Papa wanted to lead straight to his industry , the construction industry .
Maybe, Royce was intimidated by the enclosed police cell , he cried and had to be let out immediately. While he felt right at home in the construction area. Well, maybe he followed the footsteps of his dad and grandfather .

Kidzania has core job role playing and some depending on the sponsors that they have. For example Bangkok has coco cola manufacturing plant.  Depending on your character of  your kids, I felt that the 6 years kids onwards know how to appreciate Kidzania more.
I do not think the activities was very updated on the map
Day 2
It was mummy's turn to shop at Platinum mall , we came across a store at level 2 , that sells family outfits. And on level 5  , we customised the caps with Royce and Adele's name .
Which I thought it looked pretty cool on Royce.
The many poses and a new cool cap
Day 3
brought us to Dinosaur Planet @ 544/1 Sukhumvit Rd, Khwaeng Khlong Tan, Khet Khlong Toei, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110 .
Papa Koh did the booking online , and mentioned that the tickets purchased online were cheaper. I had mixed review on the attraction. However , decided to go and to check it out, as Royce likes Dinosaurs alot.

Papa Koh  checked the online website via https://www.dinosaurplanet.net/en/booking/, and booking at the counter , it was cheaper to book online.
The place is relatively small to house the biggest of dinosaurs. We warmed up by taking video with 3D . The entire feel of the Dinosaur Planet makes me feel I am in the setting of Jurassic Park. I was hoping by then Royce will be warmed up.

The next stop , the passage way that lead outside was the dinosaur ride @ Dino Farm, this is an additional cost on top of  the ticket purchased.  If  you have the entire day, the Dinosaur moved very slowly.........  And to exhaust, I mean entertained the kid , they had sandpit and tools to brush off the sand off the 'fossils' . For some reasons, the kids love that, he sat there playing a long time.

While waiting for the Raptor Extreme , there was 'live ' Raptor parading around to entertain the kids. Luckily for that, we were testing his guts about seeing the raptors, before heading in for the real thing.

Running around with Blue , no idea why I associated him with Blue from Jurassic World, it was chasing us around . The intensity from the siren and the whole set up makes it very realistic. Royce enjoyed it , but was afraid to take the picture looking front , as he knew the Raptor at the back was moving.

The last stop , before we headed out for a rest, was Dinosaur District . Learning about the bones and eggs . The interesting part was a live show that the host introduced the eggs , interacting with the kids. The kids and adults literally squat down when the 'T- Rex' showed up  .

The Scientist showing us the egg before the T- Rex came over

Papa Koh to Rescue

It kind seems like , it was never ending, because you of course have to exit through a souvenir store. We had Royce to paint his version of the 3D Dinosaur , and the animation came alive on the screen. This is another thing that I observed , that captures the children's imagination and curiosity.

Finally we walked out through the souvenir store and to fill those hungry stomach of ours.

Yishun Fire station by Ade Oei

12:34 PM 0 Comments
My kids are my auto alarm clock, jumping on our faces, on my hair. And imitates the sound of the rooster to wake up us.
The benefit of living in Yishun is , us Yishun mummies and daddies,  can gather easily at Yishun Fire station. The kids waited eagerly for an officer come over to orient us.
We went to a room where they picked up the emergency calls . We were shown the map,  on the area that fire station covers.  While the adults were keen knowing the details,  the kids were entertained by the helmet,  a kind officer passed to them.
We are firemen
What ? I put on the hat , and I am still not a fireman?
Ready to roll it
The kids were excited in sitting in the fire engine,  more than anything.  The tank belows hold a substantial amount of water (which this mummy old liao, forgot how much) for them to fight fire.
Again,  the adults are interested to know the details,  while the kids were touching the fire engine,  the wheels and basically anything they can set their eyes on.

The different hose are used in different incidents,  the greater pressure were used in for e.g , the tuas site incident, where the firemen were not able to go near. The kids explored holding the hose, which cost $700!

Royce holding the hose the wrong way.
My friend don the fireman hat well

Adele trying to crank the fire truck

The polite firemen greeted us in polite nods and hellos. While the kids rushed over,  hose the invisible fire down

The last activity was getting dressed in 1 min, 15 seconds. The kids were fascinated as much as the adults.  He did an impressive job,  under 1 minute.

Thank you firemen,  for keeping us safe!

Till then, See you again!

Role Parenting is important

11:57 AM 0 Comments
As parents,  we are expected to be perfect.  People can refute the statement,  by saying since when?  But we all know we do and you do.
Even as a person, we are expected to follow the morals of what the society wants us to be.
I broke most aspects of it . Sociology taught me we play different roles,  and we are actors on our stage.
When it comes to parenting,  I only can try to be the best that I can,  imparting the good values.  However , when quarrels arises,  the anger get the better of us.
I can see myself replaying the scenes over and over again. Only to realise how scared my kid was,  now that Royce is older,  he understands what is going on.
Remembering a scene where I quarrelled with my mother-in-law,  the anger makes blood literally raised to my head and it clouded the judgement. I did my worst , and I am not proud but it did not surprised me that I did what I did.  I was only glad that my maid stopped me.
But when I turned around, I saw Royce and he was afraid and he stood in that spot looking at us. That expression etched in my memory,  knew that he will remember that scene for I don't know how long.
And that was my memory that I knew I had to stop.  I avoided my mother-in-law for the period of time she stayed in my house till the time she moved out. There was no better solution but I wanted to prevent it from happening again.
However that didn't stopped me,  from quarrelling with my husband. Tension will rise and we are both strong - minded or obstinate for a better word.  The little one,  was the one whom on twice the occasion,  put out his both hands like traffic policeman . He called out to us,  'Stop,  stop'
These incidents really reduced my quarrels in my marriage, it did not abruptly stopped but it did gradually overtime. For instance, both me and Ronald stopped immediately when little Royce did that before the quarrel escalated.
It was because of those incidents , i knew that Royce was learning and he remembers
I often hug my husband in front of my kids and go into group hug mode with them.  Or I will affectionately kiss my husband on his lips . Often I find Adele and Royce climbing into my bed in the morning,  and group hug me or me and my husband.
Royce being the bigger one will kiss me on my lips,  not that I have problem with that.  But more on how I stopped him from doing that to his guy and girl classmates.
So the video educating us,  on the impression imprinted the kids memories.  Which I strongly agree,  happy watching the video in the link below.

Tanjong Pagar Railway Station with kid

8:06 AM 0 Comments
On this National day 2016, we decided to bring Royce out for a walk. While Grandma Oei's help to look after Baby Adele.
Grandpa Oei,  Papa , Mama Koh and my maid took the hike at Tanjong Pagar railway station.
The railway opened on the 3rd May 1932, had seen better days. And only in my youth if I had known I would have recorded more memories.
Back in my younger days, from the window of my parent's house, overlooking the railway,  I could hear the sounds of trains at times.  The food vendors stalls will be extended just outside the station.  I remember buying ramly Burger. I guess the beauty of the railway stations is in its historical moments , and allowing the kids to relive part and bits of the moment.

The banners make the rail station live again.
I have simply no idea but the kids are fascinated with railway and the stones. Royce was busy climbing up and down the pavement.
Even stones fascinated the kids.  I guessed they really do have better imagination than adults.

While the pretty nature are hidden away from the kids,  the adults attempt to bring the child 's attention to it. But the rocks seems more interesting.

Behind the scenes of the abandoned stores.
The abandoned road makes an abundance of space for the kids to roam and glide . While the platform  standing at the height enough to exhaust Royce.
Kids playing with the rocks
Long forgotten but was once lively in it glorious days.

With Royce's energy running out, we have also claim the end of the day at Tanjong Pagar's railway station.
In less than  few months, heritage site Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will be closed on Dec. 25, 2016, and will remain shut for up to nine years, This is to build new Circle Line’s Cantonment station, slated to open in 2025.
Goodbye old Tanjong Pagar railway , till we see you again.

National Museum of Singapore - Kid's Activities

10:27 AM 0 Comments
I wanted to bring the kids to have fun. I was a little too lazy to do the research, so PaPa Koh did his job again. This time round he found that Children's season Masak Masak 2016 is  at National Museum of Singapore .

The moment we went down the escalator, we spotted some kids' activities, which Royce deep dived and went over to check it out.

I like the way small kids hold the big object

We were ntuc cardholders and we got our ticket free to some of the galleries.

Because of the timing , we went to register for the cycling activities. As we had to wait for our turn, we went to find things to entertain the kids. The Fun cycling was a fun concept
Interesting Bicycle's concept , the power from cycling generates bubbles foams or washing clothes.
However, little tots like Royce loses his interest and went over to play with the puzzle pieces and it entertained the little ones for quite a while. And at this moment, Adele walked on her own for the first time.

Also during the waiting moment, we have decided to explore the museum. It is too know our history,  and to experience what it is like being there,  back in time.

We went to the theatre.  I always had the fascination with drive in movie. The museum done up the drive in scene,  could picture and imagine those days soaked in the ambience of watching movie outdoors

The childhood's memories of the film are presented in the museum.  Makes me feel old.
The day at the museum ended with the cycling activities, with the help of parents , it was a success that the kids were enjoying themselves
